Mortgage rates took a spring jump in the past few months, adding insult to injury for home buyers and investors who are already staring at price tags that are far higher than they were just 12 months ago. Prices are up 34% from the of the pandemic, and now homebuyers are faced with mortgage interest rates nearly 2% higher than they were six months ago. 

Why? 

Inflation is out of control, reaching a level of 9%+, which should be a point of concern for everyone. This high inflation rate isn’t good for anyone. Now, the Federal Reserve is fighting back, and their weapon of choice is increasing interest rates. As they raise the Federal rate, consumer mortgage rates are five steps head, now over 6%.
